Image Guidelines
As you prepare your files for loading onto the Art Licensing Show website, please consider preparing your files in advance to help make your images load quickly and look great on the site.
* For best results, we recommend RGB JPGS using the Photoshop "save for web" feature at 100 quality. The images will be automatically resampled and compressed to 70 quality to help with faster page loading. PNG files with transparent backgrounds are good of you are looking to achieve a special shaped image. (Click here for more info on optimizing images from Adobe.)

SIZE: 260X260 pixels
FILE FORMAT: JPGS, GIF or PNG files
You may edit this later by going to:

Collection Description
There is space for a paragraph to describe the contents and vision behind each collection. Keywords in your description will also be a way for your artwork to be discovered.
Collection Keywords:
Describe your collections and images with a few sentences. Each piece and collection can have unique keywords to help the search process.
Collection Genre, Style/Technique, and Subject Matter/Occasions:
Select the categories that best describe your collection. If there is anything additional you don't find in the list, add it as a keyword tag.
TIP: Hold down CMD (MAC) or CTL (PC) to select more than one.
Preparing Your Artwork "Pieces"
SIZE: For best results upload an image about 700 x 700 pixels (or up to 1166 X 1166 pixels if needed.) These measurements are suggested maximum width and height. Keep your files as small as possible. Files over 5 megs will be blocked.*
In today's mobile world, SQUARE file sizes translate best for viewing on both horizontal and vertical devices, but this is NOT required. Do what works best for your images.
*It is HIGHLY recommended that you watermark/sign these files with your name, company name or web address in one of the corners (think of it like a signature). It should be something legible that an art director can type into a search query. This is not necessarily intended to obscure the appearance of the art, but to be used as a visual tracking device that leads back to you.
FILE FORMAT: PNG, JPG or GIF files
Artwork Thumbnails:
Thumbnail size is 260X260 pixels (these are auto-generated by the site, you can edit them as needed after you upload your images)
Pieces Description and Keywords:
Describe your collections and images with a few sentences. Each piece and collection can have unique keywords to help the search process.

Thanks for this. I’m with Marty…exciting
Awesome, great to have you Madeline!
Super excited!
We are too! It will be like Christmas morning once everyone is on the site.
Thanks for the update, Cherish. Cheers for all you’re doing to make this happen!
Thanks for cheering me on Barbara! This has been a worthy challenge. 🙂
You have asked that each piece of art have a name on the art.
Can there be one name on one piece of art and
another name on another piece of art.
Some of our art is done identified with our names
and some is identified as being done by our studio name.
We would like to be able to identify each piece with it’s
creators identification.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the future.
Yes, John. You can do this, please specify in your submission exactly what your needs are. Thanks! Also, feel free to open a support ticket at [email protected] if you need further assistance.

This is so exciting…can’t wait.
What a great idea. It’s going to be exciting to upload my images.
so exciting, Cherish! You are brilliant my friend!! I’ll be participating with my hand painted work. Thank you for filling a huge hole in the art licensing industry!
Brenda, thank you, that means so much. Your gorgeous new art style will be so much fun for licensing!
I am thrilled to see this site coming. Actually doing the shows have been next to impossible with caring for my parents and I was starting to feel as though I am fading into the woodwork. This kind of thing will allow me to make a comeback. In a big way!
Lisa, I can understand how demanding life can be as an artist with many family responsibilities as well. However, it makes sense for busy art directors, too. One place to see thousands of images hand picked just for them. All they have to do is register and then ask you to show your work, just like they would at a traditional trade show. No longer do they have to memorize hundreds of urls and passwords to see fresh new work. It is now available at their fingertips.
Been dealing with the same thing as Lisa, but with needy kids added in. So this is a great opportunity. Eager to get started. Thanks for doing it!
Barbara, it’s great to have you join us! If you need anything, feel free to email me. 🙂
Just Paid to activate my art licensing portfolio with the Night Owl Limited Offer!
Can’t wait to be part of Art Licensing Show!
We are pleased to have you join the site. Looking forward to your wonderful photography based profile! 🙂
Hi Cherish & all Art Licensing Show! I really wanted to join with you last summer but I didn’t.
I’ve just paid your night owl offer, and I’m really excited now to activate my account. Can’t wait !
Citra, it is great to have you join us. You are officially our first member from Indonesia. Have fun uploading your colorful art!
Just joined and I am so excited to be connected with all of you. While I’m not new to art as a profession, I am new to licensing and look forward to building relationships. So happy to be here in the beginning and to be able to share and aid in the growth of this site.
Welcome to the ALSC Show Pam!
I am so excited about this website. I am getting ready to join, just making sure I pick the right level. I am so thrilled to have found this and I am excited to be a part of the roll out! Thanks for all your hard work!
Is there any way to organize files differently than the order you uploaded them in? I added a file but I don’t want it on the end of my images.
Thanks for your questions Leslie! Yes, you can drag and drop them in the correct order. Easy. 🙂
